Method

  1. Before you begin, wash and clean the Buckwheat in a fine amount of water.
  2. Let it soak for a duration of two hours.
  3. Once done, drain the water and keep the soaked Buckwheat aside.
  4. Now, take a bowl and combine the dahi and about 1 ½ cups of water.
  5. Whisk it and keep it aside.
  6. Heat the Sunflower Oil and the Cumin Whole in a deep non-stick pan.
  7. Let the seeds reach the point when they crackle, add the Potatoes, and mix well.
  8. Cover the pan and cook on a medium flame until the Potatoes are half-cooked.
  9. Now, reduce the flame’s intensity to a low and add the soaked Buckwheat, Ginger-Green Chilli Paste, Dahi Water Mixture, and Salt.
  10. Mix the whole thing well, cover the pan, cook for about five to six minutes, and stir occasionally.
  11. Once done, add the Lemon Juice and Peanuts and mix well for about a minute on a medium flame.
  12. Finally, garnish the Buckwheat Khichdi with the Coriander and Sesame Seeds and serve hot!
